Graffiti damage requires special cleaning

Bored teenagers decided it would be fun to break into a local school and redecorate with spray paint and fire extinguishers.
The damage was extensive, and more than the janitorial team could handle. They called SERVPRO of Lawton.
Our inspection found over 5000 square feet of damage in the gym, from the floors to the audio visual booth upstairs.
Harmful and slanderous slogans were painted on walls and furniture, and numerous fire extinguishers were emptied throughout the facility.
Our restoration plan was to clean the phosphate left by the extinguishers, then clean all the graffiti painted surfaces.
The scope of work was estimated to take five days, which would have allowed for the schools awards ceremonies and other events to take place as scheduled.
But then COVID-19 shut down the schools, and most of the entire state of Oklahoma.
Graffiti damage became a small problem, and one that the janitorial team suddenly had time to clean.
We didn't get to restore this school, but we did work with their staff and share solutions to help them perform a self-help project.
Because that's the SERVPRO way. We're here to help.
